Mt. Vernon Community Services, in partnership with Shine Early Learning, conducted a comprehensive Community Needs Assessment to better understand the strengths, challenges, and evolving needs of the families they serve. With pages of layered research, dense data, and community perspectives, the challenge was presenting the findings in a format that felt accessible, navigable, and actionable.
Turning Complex Research Into Clear, Human-Centered Design
Brought in after the research was complete, my role was to translate complex insights into a thoughtfully structured document that guides readers through the information with ease. Infographics, pull quotes, and intentional spacing break content into digestible sections, allowing key themes and takeaways to surface naturally.
Rather than overwhelming the audience, the design brings focus to the story within the data. The result is a report that moves beyond documentation and becomes a practical tool for shared understanding, alignment, and meaningful impact.
